Texas Equine Liability Sign
UNDER TEXAS LAW (CHAPTER 87, CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE),
AN EQUINE PROFESSIONAL IS NOT LIABLE FOR AN INJURY TO OR THE DEATH OF
A PARTICIPANT IN EQUINE ACTIVITIES RESULTING FROM
THE INHERENT RISKS OF EQUINE ACTIVITIES
Equine liability laws are helping horse people by providing a measure of immunity from lawsuits involving the inherent risks of equine activities.
In most states, failure to comply with the requirements concerning warning signs, notices and contracts can prevent invoking the privileges of the immunity provided by these legislative acts.
Most states require very specifically worded signs be placed at clearly visible locations on or near stables, corrals, arenas, trails, and other areas in close proximity of the equine activity.
