Company of Animals Pet Corrector
The Pet Corrector® Compressed Air Behavior Aid offers a simple, handheld solution designed to interrupt unwanted canine behaviors and assist in livestock or personal defense during unexpected animal encounters. Inspired by natural warning sounds—such as the hiss of a snake or a goose—this device emits a specialized burst of harmless, dry compressed gas. The sudden sound creates an immediate, safe distraction that breaks your dog’s focus on undesirable actions like nuisance barking, jumping on counters, or chasing, providing an optimal window to redirect them toward positive behaviors.

How to Use Safely
For Behavior Correction:
-
Catch the Behavior: Wait for the exact moment your dog engages in the unwanted action (e.g., barking at the window).
-
Deploy at a Distance: Hold the canister away from your dog—at least 3 to 6 feet away—and point it away from their face. Press the actuator firmly to deliver a short, 1-second burst.
-
Never Spray Directly: Do not point the nozzle or spray the gas directly at your dog's face, eyes, or skin. The tool operates purely on audio distraction.
-
Immediate Redirection: The moment your dog stops the negative behavior and turns toward you, immediately reward them with a high-value treat, toy, or positive verbal praise.
For Emergency Off-Leash Encounters:
-
Establish a Barrier: If a threatening or loose animal approaches you on a walk, stand firmly and extend the canister forward.
-
Deliver a Warning Burst: Press the button to emit a loud, continuous hiss toward the ground in front of the approaching animal to startle and halt their advance.
-
Retreat Safely: Use the moment of distraction to calmly remove yourself and your dog from the area.
