Wayne Baize is a preeminent contemporary Western artist dedicated to portraying the authentic, unglamurized realities of ranch life. Born in Stamford, Texas, Baize inherited a deep love for the land from his father and developed his technical skill under the mentorship of Western master Tom Ryan. Known for his exceptional ability to capture the muscling and structure of horses, he often chooses Hereford cattle as subjects because of the visibility of their facial expressions.

In 1995, Baize achieved what he considers the highest honor of his career: election to the prestigious Cowboy Artists of America (CAA), where he has served as both director and president. His work is celebrated for its traditional craftsmanship and has earned numerous accolades, including the Western Artist of the Year award from the Academy of Western Artists and multiple silver medals for drawing at the annual CAA exhibitions.
