Rusty Phelps is a fourth-generation native Coloradan and lifelong outdoorsman whose deep roots in ranching, hunting, and western life profoundly shape his art. Originally intending to become a game warden, his path shifted in college when a professor encouraged him to pursue art professionally. Phelps gained early success as a bronze sculptor, creating hundreds of pieces for collectors around the world—including presidents and royalty. Though he's received numerous awards, he creates art out of love, not for recognition. Now in his 80s, he continues painting the western and wildlife scenes he's always been passionate about.
