G. Harvey Jones (G. Harvey) began his art career at the University of Texas at Austin, eventually becoming a full-time artist by 1958, winning the New Masters Award in 1965. Though he sought to join the Cowboy Artists of America, he innovatively applied French urban lighting techniques to Western art, a pioneering style that brought him widespread acclaim and record auction sales. His work, including sculptures, was exhibited at the Smithsonian and collected by figures like President Lyndon B. Johnson. G. Harvey was also a significant donor to Focus on the Family, with a gallery of his Christian-themed paintings, underscoring his deep connection to the organization.
