Frank McCarthy (1924–2002) was an acclaimed American realist painter who transitioned from a prolific career in commercial illustration—creating iconic film posters for the James Bond series and The Ten Commandments—to becoming a master of Western art. After studying at the Art Students League and Pratt Institute, he spent decades capturing the spirit of the American West with a signature cinematic dynamism that earned him induction into both the Cowboy Artists of America and the Society of Illustrators Hall of Fame.
