• The Cavalry long shanked bit was most commonly used in the Cavalry mounted armed forces. It is an S cheek that sweeps back behind the mouth allowing for balance and discourages a horse from lipping or biting the shank. The Dutton Cavalry cheek piece is shaped in a similar fashion allowing for the proper balance.
