Teskey's Saddle Shop

In 1998, Michael and Anissa Teskey moved to Weatherford, Texas, the "Cutting Horse Capital of the World", and opened a saddle and tack shop.  If Fort Worth is “Where the West Begins,” then Weatherford is where the West lives on. Located about 30 miles west of Fort Worth, Weatherford offered the ideal setting for the growing saddle and tack business. Michael and Anissa opened their first Weatherford location in a small storage facility near the highway, serving the area’s active equestrian community.

The response was immediate. As the business grew, Teskey’s expanded into a second unit, then a third. By 2004, the company had outgrown those spaces and moved west along the highway into a new 40,000-square-foot facility. With an extensive selection of saddles and tack, Teskey’s became the go-to destination for the western community.

The next chapter came quickly. In 2005, they enclosed the front porch and transformed it into a clothing boutique called Teskey’s Cowboy Headquarters. Its success led to a 20,000-square-foot expansion the following year, allowing Teskey’s to broaden its selection of western wear, boots, hats, outdoor apparel, and trending fashion brands.

The original boutique space soon found another purpose. Anissa’s mother, Melissa, had begun cooking lunch for employees once a week, and her made-from-scratch meals became so popular that Teskey’s Cafe was born. The cafe eventually evolved into Teskey’s 101 Grill & Gallery, combining homestyle cooking with an impressive collection of authentic Western art, with most pieces from CA artists.

In 2007, Teskey’s expanded again with the opening of the Feed Barn, giving customers the convenience of picking up feed, hay, fencing, farm supplies, and pet products while shopping for their horses and themselves.

The addition of Teskey’s Outdoor Store further enhanced the experience, catering to outdoor enthusiasts with new and used guns and offering a massive inventory of men’s boots along with the largest knife selection around.

Today, Teskey’s encompasses more than 100,000 square feet and employs more than 100 people. What began in their garage has grown into a nationally recognized Western destination, while remaining firmly connected to the horse community that helped shape it.
