Caiman boots and alligator boots are not the same, although they are similar. Both are made from the hides of reptiles, but caiman leather comes from caiman, a smaller, more rigid-skinned relative of the alligator found in Central and South America. Alligator leather, on the other hand, is generally softer, more supple, and sourced from alligators, primarily found in the southeastern United States.
